Welcome! Come and Look Around!

The warm weather seems to come and go, but for today, it is here. I even ventured out and put on flip-flops this morning..brave I know but I figured it was worth a try. I cannot believe that it is the end of February already. Yesterday was Ash Wednesday and though I am not Catholic I decided to give up chocolate for lent. My friend Taylor and I always give up something together for lent; we figure there is strength in numbers! It has only been one day, but I sure do miss chocolate already. I wish I had crammed in the last of my Valentine's Day candy on Tuesday night though!

National Honor Society is having a big dirt pudding sale at tonight and Friday night's games. Everyone should definitely come get some because the money goes to a non-profit organization in town called Precious Rewards. You can eat some good dessert and donate money to charity. It is certainly a win-win situation.

I was on my way to school this morning and I suddenly realized prom is less than two months away! That is pretty exciting stuff. Let's hope that the juniors are planning something pretty amazing for the senior's last prom. No matter what it will be tons of fun I am sure.

Well guys, I hope that your day is going well and continues to get even better. Keep your fingers crossed that this warm weather is here to stay and not just teasing us again!

It has been a mighty long time since my last post! I hope everyone is well and has enjoyed the last few months. Yesterday the class went to Indy to see another IRT play. This time we got to view To Kill a Mocking Bird. It was absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed reading the book a few years back with Mr. Stuckey and the play was all that I had hoped it would be. Most of all, I was impressed with the child actors. It just astounded me that they could be so well prepared, especially since I could never have done such a thorough job. I would recommend catching this play at the IRT before it is over. You will most certainly NOT be disappointed.

Life has been flying by lately and I have recently realized just what "senior-itis" really is. Scholarships are causing tons of stress and I just hope that it will all work out for the best. I have put a lot of time into them and hopefully it will pay off..literally!

Everyone stay out of trouble and enjoy this wonderful day.

Brr, it is freezing out today! Luckily we are in the school, where it happens to be a whole four degrees warmer! Lucky us.. All in all, this day is off to a good start it seems. Last night the National Honor Society had its Induction Ceremony. As always, the ceremony went very well and it was nice to see everyone so dressed up. The cake afterward was good and believe it or not the punch that Mr. Meece and Mr. Seal made was very tasty (it surprised me too). My favorite part of this ceremony is the teachers that come out to watch. I'm sure I speak for all the members when I say that it means a lot to us to see you there. Thanks!

Hello everyone. It seems that these few weeks before Thanksgiving are dragging by. Hopefully, it speeds up soon because I am certainly ready for some time off of school. Senior year is full of decisions and now I am beginning to realize how difficult decision making can sometimes be. I, of course, am talking about college choices. I thought the hard part was done for me (the applying and getting acceptance letters back) however I have quickly realized that this was not in fact the difficult part. Instead now I must decide where I see myself being this time next year. Talk about decisions!! Oh, and scholarship time is coming as well. The announcements informed all seniors that we will be attending a meeting next Monday about Community Foundation scholarships. These scholarships are some of the big ones. No pressure or anything.. Oh well, it will all be worth it in 6 months when we all graduate! Have a good day friends, and I will talk to you soon!

Hello, I hope all is well with everyone today and that this Tuesday (ELECTION DAY!!!) is bringing lots of joy. Today is a day to go down in history books, because it is a huge presidential election year. How strange is it to imagine that by the end of the night we will know who our new president will be. I Wish I could vote today, but my 18th birthday falls one day after election day. Oh well, it is neat just to watch the vote tally on tv.
Oh, another reason that today is so special, is because my research paper has been handed in. Excitement did overcome me this morning when I realized 1st period would not be filled with research paper drama. It is nice to just relax. Please everybody keep their fingers crossed that I can get a good grade on this all important paper. It has taken up so much time that I would probably cry if my grade did not end up well.
Has anyone else noticed that November has brought Christmas music. I have yet to hear any on the radio, but Wal-Mart has already begun celebrating. November 1, I walked into the store and noticed Christmas music and decorations. This is most certainly, in my opinion, the best time of the year and I am counting down the days till Christmas already. It is so nice to enjoy time spent with family and friends.

Our class trip to see MacBeth was certainly entertaining. The actors were extremely talented and I was surprised by how well they could present a play that was written so long ago. I think it would be hard to preform MacBeth because the language is so different from how we speak now. Having seen this play, I have much more respect for those who make a living through acting.

Thursday...what is the point in Thursday? It is so close to Friday, but yet it is not quite there. Thursday just ends up being a tease. Anyways, in case you have not caught on, today is indeed THURSDAY. Oh well, just crossing my fingers that it will go by quickly.
The weather is cool these days and I like to call this time of year "hot chocolate season". Actually, I enjoyed some this morning on my drive to school. It is so warming, and just brightens the whole day, even on a Thursday. I recommend this type of therapy to one and all. Bad day? Consume some hot chocolate and ta da!!
Another recommendation I regularly give concerns only my fellow seniors. My advice is lets relax. This year is already turning stressful for many of us, with keeping grades up, filling out college applications and already completing scholarship forms. We must remember though, that this is our last year together and making time for our family, friends and ourselves must come first. Stay focused on schoolwork, but also focus on making this year the best one yet, as it very well should be. Don't watch me too closely though, because I too fall victim to stress. I will not name names (calculus) but certain classes just make it hard to remain anxiety free. It can be done though!
So let's hang out more fellow seniors, let's laugh more and go see more movies. Basically, let's have more fun.
Now that I have vented enough for five people, I shall let you all go. I wish you all a happy hot chocolate season Thursday!
